The Coastal Empire’s hub for culinary experiences

Dining in Richmond Hill is much more than simply sitting down for a meal, it’s a culinary experience. That’s because we have so much more than the chains you can find everywhere. We are known in The Hill for our concentration of home-grown, family-owned restaurants that bring you the flavors of the world, the harvest from the farm, and the bounty of the sea. You could spend weeks here and still not eat everywhere, but if you’re in town for a few days, there are a few can’t-miss destinations you’ll want to taste. Find a full list of options here.

Seafood

The obvious place to start when in Richmond Hill is seafood. We are home to some of the most sought-after coastal fare anywhere. Our seafood is so famous, we have the Ogeechee Seafood Festival to celebrate it. For the authentic Richmond Hill dining experience, head to the waterfront. Marker 107 and Fish Tales each offer the freshest of surf and plenty of turf to go along with it. These restaurants specialize in serving the highest quality seafood around: shrimp and grits, the catch of the day right off the boat, and scallops and oysters. The Local on 17 merges fine dining with steakhouse offerings and seafood galore. Or head over to Loves Seafood and Steaks for snow crab legs, a classic seafood platter, or low country boil, just to name a few of their plethora of offerings. .

Classic American Fare

We do good, old-fashioned American standards with a twist in The Hill. Everyone loves a chicken sandwich, but Bubba’s Bistro put a little more South in theirs when they created the sweet tea-brined chicken sandwich, a culinary delight that landed the restaurant on Food Network. Uptown Deli and Bakery has earned the title of the Best Sandwich in Bryan County as voted on by readers of the Bryan County News. Smokin Pig is the go-to location in The Hill for all things barbecue, complete with pulled pork, brisket, and poultry slow smoked for a truly authentic flavor. For health-conscious eaters, head to The Green Spork Café and Market for a full slate of chef-prepared, plant-based, vegan, gluten-free, and soy-free meals that are packed with flavor. Charlie Graingers brings you the true American classics. The restaurant serves hot dogs, brisket, barbecue and more.

Asian Cuisine

Papaya Thai Cuisine and Sushi Bar has been voted Bryan County’s favorite sushi and cooks up all your Thai favorites. If you’re looking for sushi and hibachi, head to Fuji Sushi or, for buffet-style hibachi, to Shogun. Sit down or pick up to go at Sumo Japanese Teriyaki and Sushi or order Chinese food for takeout or delivery at Happy Wok. For a little bit of everything from around the continent, order from Asia Asian Cuisine. Or for a taste of India, try Himalayan Curry Kitchen and add a little spice to your life.

Breakfast, Ice Cream, Sweets, and Coffee

For early risers, Sunshine Breakfast Restaurant specializes in just what you would think, breakfast. Burritos, hashbrowns, and the classic eggs and bacon are all on the menu. Omelette Café has a large menu of omelets as well as other traditional breakfast favorites and new creations special to the local eatery. Way Station Coffee Co. has breakfast items on the menu, but also serves ice cream along with its specially roasted coffee. Plums Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop is the place to go for a little bit of everything. Breakfast and lunch are served daily, but the ice cream is not to be missed. All Things Chocolate and More is best known for its freshly baked sweet treats, but it also serves coffee, brunch, and lunch. Nasso Donuts gets you started on the sweet side with a slew of house-made donuts and plenty of coffee to go with them. Tosa Coffee Company gets you moving six days a week with fresh, in-house roasted coffee.

Hispanic Cuisine

El Potro Mexican Restaurant, Jalapeno’s Mexican Restaurant, and La Nopalera Mexican Restaurant offer traditional Mexican dishes prepared with care and served with plenty of spice. D’Corner Latin American Specialties brings the taste of Puerto Rico to The Hill and serves up mofongo, house-made cured meats, specialties from the sea, and more. And La Casita Peruvian prepares plates of traditional Peruvian foods with complex, aromatic flavors and a healthy dose of spice.

Pizza and Italian

Everyone loves a good slice of pizza or a big steaming bowl of pasta. To satisfy your pizza cravings, head to Ricciardi’s Pizzeria for a pie and a pitcher with friends. Feed the family in a jiffy and pick up from Papa’s Pizza to Go. When you’re looking fresh pizzas, strombolis, and calzones, or hand-crafted classic pasta dishes, try Bella Mia.

Pub Fare

There’s nothing like catching a game, having a pint with friends, and scarfing down some classic pub grub. Molly MacPherson’s Scottish Pub & Grill is perennially ranked among the best restaurants in Richmond Hill and is famous for its Scotch whiskey and beer selections as well as its authentic Scottish fare. Head to Ireland when you dine at Fia Rua Irish Pub and nosh on bangers and mash and other Irish favorites while enjoying a huge selection of draught beers. Jukebox Bar & Grill is a classic juke joint with food, drinks, pool, and more. When you’re ready to party, look no further than Flashback Bar & Grill. The rock-and-roll bar with a sports attitude hosts regular live rock shows and always has the big game on the big screen. Snazzy’s Hot Wings and Sassy Things is another go-to for catching the big game and chowing down on wings, burgers, and more.

With so many culinary options, remember to pack your appetite when you head for the hill.
