Lowcountry Nights On the Hill

Grab a bite at happy hour, make family reservations, listen to live music and soak up the lowcountry vibe.

One could argue that a neighboring city of Savannah can't compete with everything there is to do in the "Hostess City of the South," but have you been to Richmond Hill? Just minutes from Savannah, the city "On the Hill" has our own lowcountry vibe in its happy hours, live music venues, comfort food and seafood restaurants.

Music is implied in the name at Jukebox Bar & Grill on 3741 U.S. Highway 17. Here's a venue where musicians and bands play on weekends. Guests can join in karaoke and trivia nights, play pool and darts, watch sports, and order late-night food - even $1 hot wings on Wednesday until 7 pm.

The owners of Flashback bill it as the Heartbeat of Richmond Hill's Rock'n'Roll at 10010-B Ford Avenue. The venue hosts live bands who play the faves of the '60s, '70s, '80s, and more! More than just a bar and restaurant, this is a community. The stage lights beam with local and traveling talent. The fun is always rockin' and you can plan with a full calendar of bands, Poker and Pool leagues, Open Jam sessions, Burger Nights with Live Music, and Trivia with a Twist and Tacos.

The 5 Spot Richmond Hill at 3742 U.S. Highway 17 offers live music across genres, from singer-songwriter to jazz and rock'n'roll classics at this favorite kitchen and bar establishment. Rumor has it these are the best fried green tomatoes! Plus, burgers, buttermilk chicken tenders, meatloaf, sandwiches, and more, all crafted with an approachable manner and made by hand.

Fish Tales restaurant patio overlooks the Fort McAllister Marina.

Fish Tales at Fort McAllister Marina features live entertainment and Sunset Thursday shows at its Tiki Hut, fishing tournaments and special events that make this seafood establishment an easy local hangout with indoor and outdoor seating. Before the music, and as you order the fresh catch of the day, watch the boats come into the marina by sunset at 3203 Fort McAllister Road.

For those who prefer Hops on the Hill, consider a visit to Debellation Brewing Company at 822 Longwood Drive. Savor a wide variety of craft brews along with a selection of seltzers, wine, and spirits. Between food trucks, music, dancing, family day, and more, there is fun and fellowship every day the doors open. Both founders of Debellation Brewing Company are military veterans who honor our military, police officers, firefighters and first responders.

Save the date for the June 28, Richmond Hill's Independence Day Celebration at JF Gregory Park - 521 Cedar Street - with headlining performances by The Boondockers and Swingin' Medallions. Kids will love the inflatables (wet and dry - bring clothes), food trucks, crafts vendors, classic cars and a fireworks display at sundown.
